Couples therapy can be helpful for both well-established and recently formed relationships, regardless of marital status. Couples seek therapy for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Reinforce or re-establish the underlying friendships that forms the basis of a happy relationship
  • Learn specific skills to better communicate needs and boundaries, so that all parties feel respected and cared for
  • Strengthen emotional and physical intimacy, to maintain a relationship that is engaging and fulfilling
  • Navigate more effectively specific challenges, such as the decision to move in together, marry, have children, or relocate
  • While we don't provide financial advising in itself, couples can also improve the ways they take responsibilities and contribute to each other’s peace of mind with respect to budgets and other financial decisions

Using our knowledge about differing communication styles, psychological types, and cross-cultural differences, we assist couples in developing skills to reduce emotional reactivity and avoidance, so that partners can learn to foster greater intimacy and mutual understanding.
